Unfortunately its not the first time. I read an article a while back where this guy tried to sell a helmet that was found at ground zero. The seller was a former member of a rescue squad and was trying to sell his helmet. Turns out members form the rescue squad recognised the helmet and traced it back to him.

If it has the particulate in it from the air in the city, the lawyers or the city would be interested in it. Either way sounds like someome is trying to get something out of so many people's misfortune. What else is new..
