City Of Round Rock FD's "New" Heavy Rescue 2

1992 Seagrave former Reserve Engine 1

2009/2010 In house conversion by RRFD shops and TRT members.

This is a work in progress, they are constantly adding equipment and making modifications as they can in house. One of the major items in the conversion was the removal of the pump, tank, and hosebed, freeing up a TON of space. I will have more in depth photos and detail later this weekend.

Special thanks to the members of the RRFD TRT!

Wow, definitely one of the more interesting and creative conversions I've seen. These guys should team up with Norwalk FD, some creative stuff comes out of that shop as well, awesome catch Seth.

Didn't White Plains and Yonkers do something very similar to this. There are pictures of the Yonkers shops conversions on LFD171's website but are there any pictures anywhere of the White Plains shops conversion.

This seems like the best option in these cash strapped time to take an already paid for piece of apparatus and convert it to your needs, no need to buy a thousands of dollars new one when a converted old one will work fine.

Shops only did the removal of the pump, hosebed, and tank, relocated the PTO generator, and made modifications to make the shell (doors, etc).

The TRT members are the ones who are setting up and building the rest of the rig......I will have more photos later.

Although we can afford a new heavy rescue, this suits our needs just fine now. We have a new engine on it's way, and a new quint in the works, as well as a brand new additional station that will be opening in the next two years. Thankfully, the recession has really spared Texas. Will explain more later....
