Yonkers Budget Issues

33 posts in this topic

I find it interesting to that an organisation in America did a study that from a crew of 4 the reduction in 1 person increases the workload by 25% and the obviously 25% for every firefighter that drops from there. So it goes without saying that if manning is cut on engine and truck companies in yonkers that the workload is going to increase hugely....or worse still unsafe working conditions will come in.

You will end up seeing greater alarms for smaller jobs and then it will snownall from there

Good luck with the fight guys!

I remember a study done by the FDNY. I believe it was right after their busy War Years. In that study, they found that by dropping ONE Firefighter, it took an Engine Co twice as long to stretch that inital line. Now that doesn't match the 25 % given earlier, but I don't really recall what the amount of manning was. I believe there was a story in WNYF Magazine about that. Anybody else remember that FDNY Study ?

91 COPS Laid off isn't too safe either. I am sure they are looking at demotions as well. Hopefully this is just scare tactics, stay safe brothers.
