They are fine. It is amazing though how all the fires in Putnam Valley never seem to make it up here till way after the fact. Or the fact that the one right after it that was minor in the basement off Oscawana Lk Rd was left out too. Brother there (nypd) was lucky that his wife was home and smelled the smoke before it really lit up. Looked to me like it was caused by a build up of ceramic flakes from the chimney lining due to not having a cap installed for years. The buildup caused the heat to not be released from the boiler in the low ceiling basement (5ft tall) causing the heat to conduct to the fascia board and joists. His house sustained minimal damage unlike Cold Spring Rd which was a total loss.
