looking for Advice as a Health and Safety Officer (HSO)

This year I have been appointed Health and Safety Officer (HSO) for my department. Does anyone have advice for me?

The HSO is different then the Incident Safety Officer (ISO). The HSO takes care more of the paperwork and training part. Your best bet is get a copy of NFPA 1521 which tells you about both roles. Also NY State has a class on each role

Take the HSO and ISO class and ask your Chief for the HSO policy or a list of what he expects you to do (job description)
