KINGSTON — A fire Tuesday morning destroyed a two-family home on Pine Grove Avenue and displaced seven people, emergency responders said.

City Fire Chief Richard Salzmann said none of the residents was injured, though one firefighter hurt his arm when he slipped on ice as he tried to step down from a ladder.

The chief said the house was “a total loss.”

Salzmann said the fire was ruled accidental, apparently the result of a problem with a natural gas stove.
