Putnam - Unusual Incident - 12-29-09

Date: 12-28-09

Time: 1550hrs (approx)

Location: Oscawanna Heights

1555hrs-TMC advising radio silence for situation in Zone-3.

EMS responded to an MVA at the above location. Upon arrival, 3 subjects were found out of the car. One subject was waving a shotgun at EMS and yelling at them.

Numerous PCSO AND NYSP units responded.

1558hrs-PCSO Unit o/s has recovered the shotgun, all subjects are still on scene. NYSP units responding can slow down their response.

1600hrs-Situation under control.

Putnam Valley FD and Vac Were dispatched for a MVA rollover with people still in the vehicle. Next thing i heard Putnam 911 was telling units to stage away and were trying to get a discription from unit on scene and advising them to leave the scene.

I thought i had heard PVVAC and PVFD dispatched to a roll-over MVA. But i didnt pay much attention and stopped listening.

Very scary situation. Sounds like all went well considering.
