Description: One person was hurt and four families displaced when their homes caught fire Sunday in San Ysidro, a dispatcher with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said. The blaze was reported just after 3 a.m. in the Villa Nueva apartments in the 3600 block of Beyer Boulevard, the dispatcher said.

Several units were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, she said. The dispatcher said one person was hospitalized and 15 people lived in the damaged units.

The cause was being investigated, but damage was set at $400,000 for the structure and $100,000 for contents, she said.
