Have an active lawsuit in Federal Court regarding EVOC at EMS FDNY – During the time I took it in 2006, you were already in the Academy and on the street. Many decent people were fired; more women than men – but quite a few nice men who I am sure were starting a career that perhaps would lead them into firefighting or NYPD. At the time I took it, it seemed “arbitrary and capricious.” Some of the instructors would tell us they “didn’t have to teach” a maneuver. My understanding is that the program has changed a good deal now. However, if you would like to help with any information or if you were affected by the program or know someone who was or is, please write. The Judge has told me that they would be interested in affidavits or sworn statements. If you prefer anonymity, I totally understand.
