Orange County Sheriff to team up with Middletown PD

MIDDLETOWN – Orange County Sheriff Carl Dubois, a former Middletown police officer, plans to work more closely with incoming Police Chief Ramon Bethancourt.

DuBois said he is talking with the chief about working on common strategies to help curb crime in the city.

“We do plan, and there are talks in the works, for the Middletown Police Department Emergency Services Unit sending at least eight officers to the sheriff’s Emergency Services Unit and look at creating a regional type of emergency services unit where we can all work together,” he said.

DuBois said the sheriff’s office already has a Montgomery Town Police officer in the sheriff’s emergency services unit.
