Cop patrol cutback in Cornwall-on-Hudson could save cash

Village told to try single, 12-hour shift

CORNWALL-ON-HUDSON — The state's Division of Criminal Justice Services has suggested that the village cut back its police patrols to a single, 12-hour shift to save money.

The noon-to-midnight shift would cover the hours when the bulk of calls for service are received, based on 2008 statistics, the DCJS's Office of Public Safety concluded.
