Wreckers in this class usually run around $500,00-$700,000+ depending on a variety of factors, but the price is private. It will pay for itself several times over during it's lifetime. When it goes into service, it will be available 24/7/365 for free for rescues to agencies in the area, and appearing at the many classes John generously offers for free or particpates in for free.

It seemes like Stiloskis is becoming like the O'Hare Towing in Westchester

Stiloskis is actually bigger and has more heavy recovery equipment and trucks then O'Hare, including more rotators.

I was actually suprised, TV makes things seem a lot bigger then they really are. O'Hare is still an awesome and large operation, John Stiloski just has WAAAY more diversified heavy recovery equipment then Bill Gratzianna.

How many rotators does Stiloski's have right now? We have an older 60 ton century on a older IH Paystar here in CT where I work.

Awesome looking truck. What are the benefits of the two front axles. I assume both front axles turn right?

Twin steer Axles mean more GVW I believe this truck would have been spec'd with twin 20,000 lbs axles. 40,000lbs front, 20,000 pusher axle, probably either 46,000 or 52,000 Neway rears. Mean either 106,000 GVWR or 112,000 GVMR.

Both axles do steer. As drewmel mentioned, the dual axles help distribute the weight of the truck when it is traveling on public roadways, assuring it is within DOT compliance, can handle the weight of the truck, and is safe for travel down the majority of roadways. As well as making it more manuverable.

That rig is absolutely awesome. What will these guys think of next? In a lot of ways, these recovery companies are a lot like us firemen...they need to constantly push the envelope to make something do just a little bit more each time.

Nice work Stiloski's! Thanks for being such a good friend to us firefighters.

Slightly off topic, but why do you guys call a truck built in 2009 a 2010 model ?

It's not just us, it's an auto industry thing. Why does Ford start selling a 2010 model in March of 2009? It's not so much the year of the car anymore that the year represents, rather the generation it seems.

And those classes are second to none--the real deal--a truely awesome experience. John offers so much to the fire-rescue community.
