Manhattan - Multiple HazMat Incidents - 11/9 and 11/10/09

Date: 11/9/09 and 11/10/09

Time: 21:00 hours (11/9), 11:00 hours (11/10), and 16:00 hours (11/10)

Locations: (5) Diplomatic missions in the vicinity of the UN

Frequency: 154.250 (FDNY Manhattan), NYPD SOD

Units Operating: NYPD ESU HazMat, FDNY EMS, FDNY HazMat

Weather Conditions: overcast

Description Of Incident: 4 separate "white powder" incidents within a short time span. Incidents handled primarily by NYPD with FDNY assisting with Mass Decon of possibly exposed civilians

Battalion 8 reports a confirmed white powder incident that PD and EMS have been operating at. FD units are standing by for possible decon.

Car 13B (DAC Joseph Woznica, DAC of Fire Prevention): Have the Technical Decon Units respond in the wrong way on 47 st to the front of the building. We have approximately 30 people in need of decon.

Division 3: At Box 825, we're going to keep E8, L2, we're going to let E21 and L7 go, we're going to keep the rest of the task force for an outside Decon.

BC8: We're going with an All-Hands, all HazMat decon units can be returned. We're going to keep E44, HazMat, HazMat Battalion, all other units can go 10-8.

BC8: As per Division 3, incident is Probably Will Hold.
