State Trooper killed in Greene County wreck

CATSKILL, N.Y. - NEWS10 has learned that an on-duty New York State Trooper has been killed in a car crash in Greene County.

The accident happened around 3:00pm on Route 32 in the Town of Catskill, near Cairo Junction Road. That's also called County Route 46.

As a result, Route 32 has been shut down in both directions between Cairo Junction Road and Cauterskill Road and will remain closed until around 6:00pm.

Sources tell us the Trooper was a four-year veteran.

We know there was one other car involved in this crash, but there is no word right now on any other injuries.

We have a crew on the way to the scene and we'll bring you more details as soon as we can.
