TARRYTOWN (AP) - The state police Thruway detail is launching its annual "Pumpkin Patrols" aimed at preventing dangerous Halloween pranks along the 641-mile highway system.

Haha, this is great. Good for them though cause I would be PISSED if a pumpkin went through my windshield while driving on the highway. The best part of this post is the comment the guy left on the actual article, lol.

This has actually happened in the recent past, in Westchester. In a few of the incidents, people were either seriously injured or killed. When I lived up there, I would not drive on any roadway where I needed to go underneath a bridge on Halloween after some events I witnessed.

Word...a pumpkin dropped from an overpass onto a car at highway speeds is no joke.

I was talkin with one of the guys I work with, he was saying that even a frozen turkey was dropped onto an SUV, knocking the driver out and causing a huge accident. Crazy stuff.
