FDNY Physician Who Broadened Defibrillator Use Dies

A recently retired FDNY physician, Dr. Gary Lombardi, who helped broaden the use of defibrillators, succumbed to his bout with lung cancer on Oct. 12 at the age of 58, according to Newsday.

Had the pleasure of dealing with Dr. Lombardi at Jacobi's ER and speaking with him when I would call telemtry while working in the city. His presence will be missed by many.

Outside of work, went to a couple of NY Ranger games with him. Great guy.
