Directions to Scout Field: From Bronx River Parkway South: Exit at DESMOND AVENUE. At end of ramp turn LEFT onto Desmond. At stop sign turn LEFT onto MIDLAND AVE. Cross over Parkway - Go slow! Road bears right. Hidden driveway on right leads to Field and Cabin. From Bronx River Parkway North: Exit at PAXTON AVENUE. At end of ramp turn RIGHT onto Paxton. At 2nd STOP sign turn RIGHT onto PARKWAY ROAD. Go 1 block to STOP sign. Turn LEFT onto MIDLAND AVENUE. Go slow! Hidden driveway is immediately on your RIGHT. From Sprain Brook Parkway South: Continue beyond merge with Bronx River Parkway South. Exit from Bronx River Parkway at BRONX RIVER ROAD. At end of ramp turn RIGHT (North) onto Bronx River Road. Continue straight for 1 1/4 miles (Road becomes MIDLAND AVENUE.) Road bears RIGHT over bridge - Go slow! At end of bridge - as road bears right again... Hidden driveway on RIGHT leads to Field and Cabin. From Route 22: Turn WEST at traffic light onto PONDFIELD ROAD in Bronxville. Follow Pondfield Road for 3/4 of a mile, Turning LEFT at 3rd traffic light onto MIDLAND AVENUE. Hidden driveway is 1/4 mile on LEFT. (near top of hill.)

Brothers: Eastchester Fire Sta.3 will be open to all on Monday for bathroom, coffee, bottled water etc. Sta. 3 is at the corner of Midland Ave. and Kraft Ave.; down the street from Scout Field and the Funeral home.

A special thanks needs to go out to the members of the Eastchester FD as well as the Village of Bronxville PD who are making the visitation to the wake at McGrath's as easy as possible. The Scout Field is probably the best area to park in order to easily walk to the McGrath Funeral Home. The Scout Field can accomodate many many cars and is easily accessible from the Bronx River, Sprain Brook and Cross County Parkways.

Question, for the funeral services that are scheduled for Tuesday Morning, will all members of the YFD be able to attend the services, while Mutual Aid personnel from neighboring cities, towns and villages covering the City of Yonkers during the services on Tueday? Does anyone know? I think that every member of the YFD should be allowed to attend the services on Tuesday, along with as many available Paid and Volly Firefighters from as far as they are able to come, should and I suspect will attend the memorial services on Tuesday.

Yonkers FF Patrick Joyce LOD Funeral - Brother of Martin Joyce, L-56

Wake services will take place on Monday, October 5th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. It will be held at McGrath & Sons located at 20 Cedar St. in Bronxville, NY 10708.

On Tuesday, October 6th a Burial Mass will take place at 9:45am at St. Margaret of Cortona located at 6000 Riverdale Ave. (W. 260th Street) in Bronx, NY 10471.

Members of the Department who are off-duty are requested to attend the funeral in Class A regulation uniform as a mark of respect to the deceased.

Please be advised that the location of the collation has been changed to Yonkers Raceway. All cars should park at the Yonkers Raceway in the morning. Buses will be waiting to drive members to the Church. After the mass the buses will return members back to Yonkers Raceway for the collation.

The career fire chiefs association has made arraingments to cover so all YFD members can attend.
