Fire rips through multi-family home on Stamford's West Side

STAMFORD -- A woman grabbed her four-year-old son and ran out of a burning apartment on the city's West Side Monday afternoon.

Lissette Torres, 28, of 10 Burr St., said she smelled smoke in her first-floor apartment and then saw a mattress in her mother's bedroom on fire. She said she then grabbed her son and called 911....
