Ossining fire boat, not new, but fixed

OSSINING -- The village's marine unit has been fixed up and made ready for rescue.

Police and fire officials have been training on the refurbished rescue boat, which recently returned to service after a roughly two-year hiatus.

Village officials had once considered replacing the 1989 Steiger emergency vessel, because it had deteriorated so badly it was no longer considered seaworthy.
