Orange County Sheriffs Marine Unit, Dutchess County Sheriffs Marine Unit, City of Newburgh Police Dive Team, Middlehope FD Marine Unit called out to the bridge.

A person jumped to thier death jumping between the spans. The body was recovered within a 1/2 hour of the jump

Beacon FD marine unit was initialy called but declined to go on the river because it's not equiped for night time incidents.

Smartest move I've heard in a long time! I've often asked what equipment marine units have for night-time operations but never got much of a response. Kudos to Beacon for not endangering their members!
