Bomb Scare at NYC LaGuardia Airport

Brave cops took down a deranged drifter with a fake bomb and a dead stare at LaGuardia Airport Saturday - just as he pressed a red button on what looked like a detonator, police said.

The device turned out to be batteries, cylinders and wire wrapped with tape, but Port Authority police didn't know that when they hurled the bag behind a column and tackled Scott McGann, 32.

"It was so real. It looked like the real thing," one PA cop said after the suicide bomb scare, which forced a three-hour evacuation of the Central Terminal and grounded jets.
