Cold Spring Junior Fire Academy trains tomorrow's volunteers

COLD SPRING - They line up every morning for inspection, risking the punishment of push-ups if they forget any part of their uniform, including the official T-shirt, hat and photo identification card.

After an instructor takes attendance, they march over to a nearby park for calisthenics and, later, retreat to a classroom to be lectured on basics of the fire service.
