Though hardly scientific, it does seem that a majority of agencies thus far are providing some level of paid coverage.

If you get 10 people from one combination agency vs 4 volunteers from 4 agencies your poll would look like there are more many more combination agencies. You're better off just doing a roll call of every community in Westchester.

Good point. Maybe I'll try that approach next.

Thanks!

I have to elaborate:

My squad has 3 stations. The main station is staffed 24/7, while the sub-stations are staffed during the day shift. All of our paramedics are paid, with a handful of paid EMTs. The main house has a paid medic chase car, paid shift commander, paid BLS ambulance crew and usually enough volunteers to staff a second BLS ambulance M-F. On the weekends, staffing is spotty and we usually rely on a combo paid/volunteer-staffed BLS truck. The south sub-station is a paid-staff ALS ambulance, 0700-1900 x 7 days. The north sub-station has a paid ALS chase car and a mix-n-match BLS ambulance 0800-1800 M-Sat.

We are fortunate to still have a large volunteer contingent AND a sizable paid staff. Most of the EMS units in my county are rapidly becoming either/or with staffing.
