LODD: Vol. Capt. in Kentucky, of Exertion

At 01:00 on February 5, 2005, Volunteer Captain William Goodin, age 56, of the Mt. Victory Fire Dept. in Somerset, Kentucky, died of stress/exertion.

Capt. Goodin and another Dept. member had returned from an EMS call and returned the apparatus to service. Capt. Goodin said to his fellow FF that he did not feel well and then collapsed, striking his head on a vehicle bumper. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
