Storm Aftermath: Uninhabitabile homes ?

1 post in this topic

Just saw a house here in Yonkers which was deemed uninhabitable due to severe structural damage resulting from the July 7th storm.

Questions: Does a new certificate of occupancy need to be issued before the owner can re-occupy after reparis are made???

Aside from the Building Dept, is a Fire Dept inspection also necessary to satisfy the Certificate of Occupancy??

And as a general question, do fire depts usually inspect new home construction, or just multi family and commercial structures???

One homeowner had a big, big crane rented to remove a tree leaning on his house...anybody guess what it costs an hour to rent

one of these big cranes???

I am guessing about $1000.00 per hour and don't bet on it that homeowner's insurance covers this!!!

Everybody...check your policy out !!!

Thank You Dr. Zuli
