FIREFIGHTER GREENWICH, CT FIRE DEPARTMENT The Town of Greenwich is accepting applications through 3/18/05. Salary is $42,179 with excellent benefits. Candidates must be a US Citizen, and possess a HS diploma or GED at time of application. Candidates must have a CPAT card (Candidate Physical Ability Test) issued after 1/1/05 or be registered for the CPAT w/the CT Fire Academy by 3/18/05. Greenwich Fire Department is a combination Fire Department comprised of 100 career firefighters and over 140 volunteer firefighters who respond to approximately 4000 emergency calls each year from 8 stations located throughout the town.

Equipment consists of 14 Engine Companies, three Ladder Companies, and two Rescue Companies.

This may sound stupid, but what is a CPAT card and how do you obtain one? It seems like an interesting job.

CPAT stands for Candidate Physical Agility Test. You have to take it at the CT State Fire Academy.

Also, if you sign up to take the written test, you can get an additional 1/2 point for having taken FF1 as well as a number of additional points for taking some different courses.
