Operation Recognition

1 post in this topic

I had never heard of this until recently.

Operation Recognition is a program that allows veterans, specifically WW2, Korea, and Vietnam, with honorable discharges to receive their high school diploma if they did not finish high school.

If you know anyone that may be eligible, let them know.

I went upstate last weekend to see my dad get his. He was drafted in '44 and never finished high school. It was cool to see him get his diploma at his old high school. He was very proud of the moment and quite moved by it. The standing ovation he received for the 3 or 4 minutes it took him to make his way to the podium, and the number of people who came up to him afterward to thank him and shake his hand was.... well, I don't know really how to describe it.
