Paramedics to give up raises, pending vote

Austin paramedics will not get a pay raise next year but will instead receive guaranteed bumps in pay in 2011 and 2012 under a tentative agreement with the city.

City officials and representatives with the Austin-Travis County EMS Employees Association also agreed that paramedics would receive stipend pay of about $50 a month in 2012 if they receive a national certification.
