Village of Mamaroneck Firehouse

In today's (2/2/05) Journal News Legal Section the Village Board of Trustees adopted a bond resolution to finance $810,000 to acquire land for a Village Firehouse. It states the maximum estimated cost to be $1,235,000.

Anyone have any further info on this?

I believe VMFD has been aiming for quite some time to build a "Central" station.

I don't remember quite well, but I think Ladder 20 would be one of the companies to move in.

we aim to station four if not 5 pieces of equiptment in the new house. The location will be the same as the current mamaro firehouse, station 1, and will house engines 40 and 39, trucks 20, 21, and possibly utility 9. The plans are to double the building size and make it 4 bays. The village doesnt think we need a building that big, so we are at a standstill for a few weeks.

Why both trucks out of one house? It would make more sense to run the 2nd truck from a different location
