Austin-Travis County, TX EMS New & Unique Delivery 2009 Dodge Sprinter/Wheeled Coach Type II (Photo)

Austin-Travis County, TX EMS took delivery of this 2009 Dodge Sprinter/Wheeled Coach Type II. Two more are expected. They are expected to be utilized for numerous large special events held in Austin each year, including UT Football Games, Austin City Limits Music Festival, South By Southwest, and a host of other events.

These are the first vehicle of their kind to be delivered to this agency.

They also recieved seven International 4900/Wheeled Coach Type IIII's on Friday, one of which is equipped with a stretcher lift for bariatric patients.

AMR New Haven put their first two Sprinters into service earlier this year, and so far the crews love them. Lots of headroom in the back, and very comfortable up front.

With Daimler splitting from Chrysler, any word on the Sprinter's future (it IS a repackaged Mercedes van, after all)?
