County Leases Haz-Mat Truck to White Plains FD

According to a small article in today's Journal News, Westchester County has leased a HazMat vehicle to the White Plains FD for $1 a year to serve as an additional Haz-Mat unit for the City of White Plains and the County. The article quotes the value of the truck as being $350K so I am guessing that it is the former Haz-Mat 1 vehicle (now Utility 78) and not the new HM1. If anyone else has additional info, please let us know.

There are plenty of people from White Plains on here...anyone got the scoop? Why does the Journal News know more then us?

$350,000 would be more in line with the price of the new (Hackney) Haz-Mat 1, unless they quoted the price of the former HM-1 when it was purchased new and fully equipped.
