2009 New Haven Chiefs Cup Hockey Game - March 29th, 2009

Please join The New Haven County Firefighters Emerald Society in supporting the 2009 Chiefs Cup which features the NEW HAVEN FIRE DEPARTMENT facing the New Haven Police Department, March 29th, 2009 at Yale Ingalls Rink, 73 Sachem Street, New Haven, CT.

Tickets are $20 per person and all funds raised go to beneficiaries of fallen officers/firefighters and their families! Free Admission for Children 12 and under so bring the whole family!

Admission includes live music, hot dogs, hamburgers, and more! Each ticket includes all you can eat and drink and your admission to the game. There is an open skate following the game so don't forget your skates!

This event drew in over 3000 people last year, and this year, in its 13th year running, an expected 5000 people are expected to attend and join in on this great great cause.

In past years, money raised was given to our own Emerald Society members to help offset critical medical costs they were facing, and we as a Society have always have been front and center in supporting this game. This year, money raised at this event will go to the family and children of the late Sargeant Scott Aponte and Police Officer Diane Gonzalez of the NHPD (who remains in long term medical care), who were involved in a tragic accident earlier this year. Battalion Chief Kevin Delaney of the New Haven Fire Department, who was involved in a motorcycle accident late last year will also receive benefits from this event.

If anyone has checks to donate either personally or from your union membership, I will be happy to pick them up personally. Please make all checks payable to "The Chief's Cup".

As always, the Emerald Society Pipes and Drums will be involved in the pre-game ceremonies taking place before the Chief's Cup Game.
