What Happens To Your Reflective Striping When You Roll Up The Compartment Doors?

The local Crimson dealer here in Texas adds a neat feature to their deliveries.

They add highly reflective striping on the crash rails, and inside the compartments on the back wall. That way, when the doors are rolled up, you still have reflective striping.

Sorry for the cruddy shot, I will be shooting these engines when all the equipment is mounted. Also, I will be doing a night shot featuring the relfective striping and will post it here for further review.

Simple, does anyone else have or do this?

Marion does this as well. Our engine delivered last fall has DOT striping in the rub rails plus on the faces of all shelving. The pull-out trays have striping on the faces and sides plus the swing out tool board has striping along the perimeter on both sides. Also we have mostly outward swinging compartment doors and the inside of the doors are wrapped with the DOT striping.

Nice feature that many manufacturers are starting to use. Doesn't cost much to purshase a roll of reflective tape and add the striping to existing apparatus too.

my company is starting to do stuff like this. we are adding reflective tape on the sides of compartments that slide out as well.

OK, here's a better shot of what I was talking about. You can see the refelective striping against the back wall of the compartment. This takes the place of the reflective striping on the roll up doors when they are open.

I should note, this doesn't come from Crimson, the local dealer, Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists, includes it as one of their "standard features" installed at their facility, along with the chrome panels, etc.
