Cherry bombs. The dowel with the nail in the top, bigger dowel works much better. Looked like he was using an old broom handle, something a little smaller than a closet rod fits well in most jams.

As this thread is about interesting stuff, I found this site with videos about firefighting knots, which I was reviewing for an in house drill I am planning. Another site with good reference for ropes and knots is Tempe FD Policy & Procedures.

Great topic bobby-gives new meaning to more then one way to skin a cat. Steve good links theres a lot there to look at but if you need a rope procedure the Tempe looks like a good one to shall we say adapt to!!! you dont have to reinvent the wheel--- just know how to "google" it
