For some reason i couldn't reply to the other thread on this so i started this one.

The death toll is now 173 as i write but it is likely to rise over 200.

Over 1000 houses lost.

over 330,000 Hectares ( approx 850,000 acres )

My brothers house was under threat as he was out fighting the fires but it has since passed, firefighters from every state have been sent for relief and things are starting to look up as the weather has been better although there are still 4 large fires burning.

I also hear that New zealand and American firefighters are coming over, has anyone heard about this?
