New Jersey's volunteer firefighters may soon have to pass a physical before suiting up.

I do not know how it is for others, but we have a physical program that mandates regular physicals every 1-3 years depending on your age.

Did I read that right, that the bill only gives the option for Districts to mandate this, it doesn't make it mandatory across the board anyways - so it's really not doing that much for health and safety in a department that doesn't want to enforce it, am I wrong?
