Two Structure Fires - Village of Wappingers Fire Department 1/18/09

I've been a little busy lately and I am trying to go through all my images here are some that I never did anything with..... I have posted more of the Sydney Lane fire and I will be adding more to the EFFD tractor-trailer incident in the future.....

The Village of Wappingers Fire Department responded to two structure fires on Sunday January 18, 2009. Both fires were knocked down quickly but did cause damage to both structures. The snow kinda made for some interesting photo's....

Fire #1 - This fire occurred on North Gilmore Blvd shortly before 6:00 am and I believe was determined to be of electrical in origin. Wappingers, Hughsonville, New Hamburg, and Mobile Life Support operated.

With snow falling heavily, Wappingers 68-45 operates in the front of the structure as the Mobile Life Medic offers support to some of the displaced residents.....

With the fire knocked down, firefighters evacuate the smoke from the structure.....

Ahhhh that's better..... A cat that was removed from the burning structure gets a little O2......

Did I mention it was snowing heavily? Two Village of Wappingers Police officers try to stay warm in front of Wappingers 68-45.

Fire #2 - This fire occurred around 7:00 pm on West Main St. and I believe the fire was in the basement. Not sure of cause or damage that occurred...... The Village of Wappingers, Village of Fishkill (FAST), Hughsonville, New Hamburg, and Mobile Life Support operated....

New Hamburg 53-11's crew reports for duty.....

Fire now knocked down, additional Firefighters enter the structure for overhaul......

Wappingers 68-12 operated by its chauffeur Dave Alfonso, had the front of the structure....

Wappingers Command - Chief Joe Tarquinio Jr. had command.....

Village of Fishkills FAST team arrives on the scene....

Staging...... There was plenty of manpower if needed...

A Dutchess County Office of Emergency Response Fire Investigator arrives on the scene and gets upto speed on the incident....

Under control..... Longtime Wappingers Firefighters Kevin Delehanty- L and Dave Alfonso- R have things at Engine 68-12 well in hand.....

Yep...and not only that - but they are ALL geared up, masked up, and READY to work, AND they KNOW exactly what to do if needed....

Plus.....Joe T is in Command...what more could they need?

I spy WAPP BOOGIE CAR 1, someone needs to start a face book page for him...... he is the ''REAL DEAL SOUTH END SUPPER CHIEF'', I can only espire to reach his command status someday! lol
