CHICAGO (AP) -- A 14-year-old aspiring police officer donned a uniform, walked into a Chicago police station and managed to get an assignment - patroling in a squad car for five hours before he was detected, police said Sunday.

Update:

It was discovered in the investigation that the kid drove the squad car and briefly detained a suspect during his 5.5 hour patrol.

I didn't realize he was out riding with something - I thought he was alone - that makes it even worse.
