Description Of Incident: Deep-seated fire in the basement of a commercial building w/ heavy stock storage.

FieldCom: Progress report for Manhattan 2nd alarm Box 670, the address 46 W29 st, Car 9, DAC Sudnik reports: 4 handlines stretched, 3 in operation, trucks are continuing to open up in the basement. There's a deep-seated fire, this will be a prolonged operation. Primaries on the 2nd through 14 th floors are complete and negative, primaries in the basement are delayed due to heavy stock.

FC: Progress report #5 for Box 670, Car 9 reports: The main body of fire has been knocked down. Trucks continuing to move debris to access the smoldering stock. Primary searches on the 1st floor are negative, primaries on the 1st half of the cellar are negative. This will remain a prolonged operation, fire is Probably Will Hold.

12:17 hours - Duration 1 hours 42 minutes

FC: Progress report #6 for Box 670, Car 9, DAC Sudnik places this fire Under Control. Special call 2 additional trucks for relief.
