8 Rockland firefighters volunteer in Israel

Eight Rockland County firefighters will start their day today assigned to some of the most dangerous spots in Israel.

They'll take on the same tasks of regular Israeli firefighters for the week, shipping off to fire departments in Sderot, Ashkelon, Be'er Sheva and Ashdod - all targets for rocket strikes by Hamas militants during a conflict that has lasted almost three weeks.
