So far I've heard 60 Control tone out for a Bedford, Bedford Hills, Katonah, Vista, Goldens Bridge, and Croton Falls Chiefs as well as Battallions 13 and 16 all to landline 60 Control. Is there something big going on or are these just tests of the radios...anyone know anything?

Maybe they want some sort of update for chief numbers/positions. Today marks the first day of new chiefs and officers in those departments if I am not mistaken.

Yea but they wouldnt tone out chiefs over the radio about that, and remember not all chiefs change today.There has to be something big going on somewhere in the upper Westchester area.

What does the back up dispatching consist of ? Do they man there houses, Dispatch themselves ?

I'd imagine they attempt using neighboring towers but in some instances the coverage of course isn't all there.

I know Somers FD Dispatch (WEMS Cencom) has the ability to dispatch several neighboring departments and has been called on to do so in the past.
