Past Police Chief City of Beacon Richard Sassi Passes

Richard Sassi, former chief of the Beacon Police Department, died Tuesday.

The police department is working with Sassi's family on funeral arrangements, chief Glenn Scofield said.

“It's with great shock and sadness that the City of Beacon Police Department and the City of Beacon community as a whole has sustained the loss of chief Richard Sassi,” Scofield said.

Sassi was 54 and had retired less than a year ago, Scofield said. He died of a sudden medical emergency.
