CORTLANDT - More than a dozen state troopers and county police officers raced to Walter Panas High School this morning after receiving an anonymous 911 call reporting a school shooting and that the school resource officer, state Trooper Philip Russo, had been hit.

After several tense moments in which students were cowering in classrooms as the school was locked down, police determined that the call was a hoax and arrested a 17-year-old student who they said placed it from a friend's cell phone.
