Diesel Electric (Hybrid) Public Transit Buses Can Be Tapped For Power During Emergencies

5 posts in this topic

In this month's edition of "Popular Mechanics" magazine, there's an interesting article about how Hybrid Diesel Electric buses can be tapped during emergencies to provide electrical power. It's quite interesting.

With both NYC MTA and Bee Line running these Hybrid buses, I wonder if this will ever be consider or implemented?

Where have you seen a hybrid bus? Maybe a few citywide, but more CNG roaming around than hybrid.

Oh God ! Now instead of moving people I'm gonna be turning light bulbs on.

While the MTA has a bunch of CNG buses, they have many more hybrids and have several hundred on order from Dalimer Buses. Bee-Line currently has only 4 with more to come.
