Rockland County Parade Cancelled 9-6-08

SUFFERN -The expected fury of Hurricane Hanna has forced the cancellation of tomorrow's Rockland County Volunteer Firemen's Parade.

No new date has been decided for the parade - and the possibility exists that the parade might not be held this year, ending a 96-year uninterrupted run.

A real shame the parade had to be canceled, but it was the right thing to do. Our 1st priority is to our taxpayers. I am sure Saturday will be a busy day for Rockland, and for most of the tri-state area. The convention was held tonight, great turnout. Photos from the convention can be viewed on my website:

That stinks but hey weather happens. I was planning to go this year but I made other plans for today. Always next year!
