Promotion exams

I'm vaguely familiar with the requirements for FDNY Lt and NYPD Sgt. and Lt promotions but was hoping someone who's been through them could proved a clearer example of the breadth of information that you have to learn to prepare for the exam. Thanks.

From what my cheif in my volunteer department on the island who is also a EMS LT in the Bronx, he basicaly said memorize the operating guide. Which is a ton of information.
