Ladder Truck And Power Lines are bad

A friend of mine sent this email to me today and I thought it was interesting

Wires can do some pretty good damage

Everyone should know what energized wires can do but I just thought I'd show some of you what they can do. This incident happened yesterday 08-05-08 To Snorkel 28, during a PR event. When the boom was raised into the air it came in contact with a power line and this was the result.

This incident happened in Philly about 3 weeks ago and was the subject of another post. I guess what happened was the truck was pulled out in front of the company's firehouse and the basket was being lowered and the pipe-knuckle touched the top power lines causing the fire.

Moral of this story, always watch out for hazards before raising anything!!!!

At least the results of this one were not as bad as the similar incident up near Canada earlier in the month.
