Empress EMS Fleet

I, like many on this forum, am an ex-Empress EMS alumni. I still take an interest in their operations to this day, as they are one of the largest EMS providers in the area.

Does anyone know what the future holds for their fleet? I know they've gotten a couple of Wheeled Coach vans in the recent past, I know those are used by the "Tac" (BLS-911) and BLS transport units.

Do Medics still run out of the 50 series boxes? Are there any plans to order new Type III's???

Also, what is the EMS Supervisor using, and is there any plans for a replacement there?

I see a lot of vans...not so many boxes around...and I see the supervisors using either a ford expedition (ex 34m1) or the pickup conversion truck they got a few years ago...

When I see the boxes...half the lights aren't working...I know they have 1 mechanic now but come on!

Yea, they moved all of the accesoride junk to NYC somewhere...and left 1 mechanic to work on the ambo's!

Funny - I had the PLEASURE of speaking to a now YPD Sgt the other day...who used to be everyone's favorite prankster on the truck...Ask Dennis Murphy how fast the crew room cleared out the night the flash bang came rolling across the floor...LOL!

I bet w/o Access O Ride there is MUCH more room in the lot to park!
