First countywide Fire Prevention Day to take place on Sunday

Although Orin Ben Jacob looks forward to Fire Prevention Week each October, he doesn't feel it's enough.

Ben Jacob, a fire prevention officer from the Hillcrest Fire Department, said Rockland County fire departments want to show people that fire prevention should be recognized more than just once a year.

The first attempt comes Sunday when a majority of the 26 all-volunteer fire departments in the county hold Fire Prevention Day programs.
