NEW WINDSOR — Highway accidents are stressful enough when humans are involved; add a 1,000- to 1,200-pound horse or other large animal, and the danger can be exponential.

There's a technique and an art to rescuing large animals, and it's Tomas and Rebecca Gimenez's job to teach it.
